Research Interests
I am interested in microbial mechanisms involved with soil organic matter (SOM) degradation. In order to gain new insights, I employ new multi-omic techniques (e.g., RNA-seq and DNA-seq) to link molecular processes with higher level ecosystem functions. This is important to understand functions playing a major role in biogeochemical cycles (e.g., carbon cycle), which ultimately affect our climate.
I want to apply the learned techniques to study the human microbiome after the PhD.
