I am interested in the microbial mechanisms involved with soil organic matter (SOM) degradation. In order to gain new insights, I integrate new cutting edge multi-omic techniques (e.g., RNA-seq and DNA-seq) and high resolution mass spectrometry (i.e., FTICR-MS) to link molecular processes with higher level ecosystem functions. These functions play a major role in biogeochemical cycles (e.g., carbon cycle), which ultimately affect our climate.
After my PhD, I want to apply the learned techniques in a biomedical reserch with major interest in human microbiome.
